First of all check out the following quality weight loss resources:

There are many legitimate Web sites offering medications, herbs, supplements and even prescription drugs at discounted prices. They often provide free information on interactions, alternative treatments, dosages and side effects. Most are convenient, safe and can save you money. But other sites victimize consumers with unscrupulous practices. Problems with Web sites can range from physicians prescribing drugs without ever meeting the patients, to "businesses" taking the consumers' money, then never delivering the goods. Buyers could also receive the wrong products or, worse, contaminated products. Despite these risks, only 21 states have or are developing policies regarding Internet prescribing. The American Medical Association (AMA) does target certain sites as being unethical or unprofessional -- specifically, those that do not require buyers to undergo physical exams. Instead, such sites ask only that the patient fill in an online questionnaire, which is then reviewed by a physician who prescribes a drug.

So how do you know if a Web site is safe? The Food and Drug Administration has offered the following tips: Check with the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy to determine whether a Web site is a licensed pharmacy in good standing. Don't buy from sites that offer to prescribe prescription drugs for the first time without a physical exam. Also avoid those that sell prescription drugs without a prescription or sell drugs not approved by the FDA. Don't do business with sites that don't have access to a registered pharmacist to answer questions. Avoid sites that do not identify with whom you are dealing, or that fail to provide a U.S. address and telephone number to contact if there's a problem. Don't purchase from foreign Web sites. Generally, it is illegal to import the drugs bought from these sites, the risks are greater, and there is very little the U.S. government can do to help you if you do get ripped off. Beware of sites that advertise a "new cure" for a serious disorder or a quick cure-all for a wide range of ailments. Be careful of sites that use impressive-sounding terminology to disguise a lack of good science or those that claim the government, the medical profession or research scientists have conspired to suppress a product. Steer clear of sites that include undocumented case histories claiming "amazing" results. Talk to your health-care professional before using any medications for the first time.
