Cabbage soup diet - To simply lose weight fast, the Cabbage Soup
Diet may be just what you're looking for. The
reason the Cabbage Soup Diet causes weight loss is because it
provides no more than about 800-900 calories a day.
The Cabbage Soup Diet is a low fat, high fiber diet that will
help you lose weight rapidly, it is not suitable for long term
weight loss, but may help start your weight loss before you undertake
a more sustainable long term weight management plan.
You are allowed as much water and cabbage soup you want, and
a very restricted set of other foods.

theory behind this latest craze is that you burn more calories preparing
and eating the stuff than it actually provides you with, therefore
you should have to invest in a whole new wardrobe before the end
of the week long crash diet. In addition you can eat unlimited amounts
- of cabbage soup. Or at least that is the theory.
A cursory look at what following the diet actually entails makes
for grim reading - day one: eat as much soup and fruit as you
like, apart from bananas, drink at least 1.5 litres of water every
day, no milk or carbonated drinks; day two: eat as much soup and
cooked vegetables as you like, but avoid peas, sweetcorn and pulses
- break out and treat yourself to a large jacket potato with butter
(!) for dinner
And on it goes - by day seven you are allowed soup (of course)
and brown rice and vegetables. I'm assured that it does actually
work - if you have the will power to stick to it, and you don't
tire of soup by day two.
Of course the usual crackpots, like scientists, have been denouncing
it saying you pile any weight lost back on straight away - but
what has science ever done for wobbly thighs?
